Project Timeline

The first stage, spanning Summer and Fall 2024, is entitled “Listen and Explore”. Engagement efforts during this phase discussed key issues that have been highlighted in past engagement, as well as desired equity and climate outcomes. Engagement activities included in-person workshops on the North and South shores, community partner meetings, and Tahoe Living Working Group, Advisory Planning Commission, and Governing Board meetings.

 

The second stage, spanning Winter and Spring of 2025, is entitled “Assess and Generate”. Findings from the “Listen and Explore” stage will be assessed and presented to generate ideas for policy and program changes. Engagement activities will include in-person workshops on the North and South shores, community partner meetings, and Tahoe Living Working Group, Advisory Planning Commission, and Governing Board meetings.

 

The third stage, spanning Summer and Fall of 2025, is entitled “Explore, Define, and Test”. Policy recommendations will be explored, defined, and tested, and then presented for input. Engagement activities will include in-person workshops on the North and South shores, community partner meetings, and Tahoe Living Working Group, Advisory Planning Commission, and Governing Board meetings.

 

The fourth and final stage, spanning Winter and Spring of 2026, is entitled “Develop and Finalize”. Upon the release of the Public Draft Policy & Code Updates and Environmental Impact Statement, content will be presented, and feedback collected and integrated. Engagement activities will include in-person workshops on the North and South shores, community partner meetings, and Tahoe Living Working Group, Advisory Planning Commission, and Governing Board meetings.
